Foods that Treat Dryness

Dryness is caused by your environment and, well, how dry it is. Here in Denver, dryness is a big issue. Dry skin, irritated nasal passages, and dry cough are common complaints. These issues all involve dryness in the Lung system, which also includes the skin in TCM. The Lung is partnered up with the Large Intestine, so dryness can even cause constipation in some people. Traditionally, dryness is said to be worst in Autumn, which is also the season that many of these foods are harvested. Nature provides what we need, when we need it.
